OK, Ok, ok so you might have heard the phrase “Gotta catch ’em all” and you might think this blog post is going to be about Pokémon, but surprise IT’S NOT. This blog post is going to be about anime, and yes I think Pokémon is an anime, but I am going to add other anime in the blog post too, like Naruto, Demon Slayer, One Piece, Dragon Ball Z, ect. Well anime is something I have seen a lot of, but there was a time before I knew of anime, and I am going to talk about how I came to like it. So grab your popcorn and drinks and now let’s get started. I was a very little kid when this story starts, my dad loved this anime called Dragon Ball Z and he would show it to my brother a lot, but never me. He said I was to young to watch it but I didn’t really care so I never thought about it too much. Once I was about to turn five my dad figured I could watch some, I didn’t really know what it was, I just thought of it as a dragon that played with a ball. I wasn’t sure what the z was for but as I said I didn’t really think of it that much. When I watched it, oh boy it was really cool but really weird, it was a cartoon but it looked Japanese, I just thought it was really cool. This may be a strange one, but for all of his powers and skills, Goku has only killed two people, I thought he would have killed more people (or villains). Throughout the course of the entire series. As a main character, and the most powerful character, Goku gets into some pretty intense fights on his journey and faces down evil characters on a regular basis. Imagine fighting evil people like Goku does.

So this paragraph is going to be about Demon Slayer. This anime was made in 2019, and it is my favorite anime. A whole bunch of people were talking about this movie from a anime called demon slayer, I didn’t know what it was but I was interested. So when I got back home I searched it up on a anime site, it was a very popular anime so I started watching it. My dad didn’t want me to watch it so I stopped for a bit, then a few months after It was my birthday I asked my dad if he can watch the anime with me and he said yes, so we started watching and finished the first season. Then we watched the movie which was awesome. After a year of waiting the second season came out and we watched the first episode immediately, and I am waiting for the second episode to come out. Some Demon Slayers are cursed with a mark. Tanjiro is the most prominent example of a Demon Slayer who has a mark on his face. However, he isn’t the only one. There are certain things that is required for Demon Slayers in order to procure that mark which involve surviving near-death experiences, wherein their body temperatures and heart rates are below very specific numbers. Which is very cool in my opinion.

Naruto, the second anime I ever watched. Also it’s one of my favorite anime, demon slayer is my first of course. My friends and I created a club just for liking Naruto, I really liked it back then. Don’t get it wrong I still like it but it’s not my favorite anymore. I was Naruto for 2020 Halloween, that was cool. I still try and watch it, but it’s not that interesting from back then. Naruto’s name is based on the food narutomaki, that’s funny Naruto’s name is named after a food. It is a topping for ramen that has a pink or red spiral design in the middle. Narutomaki’s spiral-shaped patterns are supposed to represent the Naruto whirlpools found in the strait (which is a bridge).

I used to watch this anime with my brother, it’s called One Piece. It’s a very old anime, even my dad heard of it when he was a kid, and that says something. I watched it with my brother, and I like it. It was about a pirate wanting to find the One Piece, which makes any pirate the king of pirates. It is a very long anime, it has up to a 1,000 episodes, which is very long. My brother is almost done with the anime, he’s 780 episodes in. That’s a lot of episodes watched. Growing up, Oda the author of One Piece, found inspiration in many of his childhood cartoons and manga. Among his favorites was Vicky the Viking, a 1970s animated television series that piqued his interest in pirate stories. However, in terms of manga, Oda was a big fan of author Akira Toriyama and his work including Dr. Slump and the hugely popular series Dragon Ball, which is one of my favorites.

My Hero Academia is a very good anime. I found out about it from my brother and my dad, I really like the main character, also known as Deku who inherited a power or quirk from a hero called almighty, the number 1 hero. It’s no secret that My Hero Academia was heavily inspired by American superhero comics and movies. The biggest inspiration came from Spider-man. No wonder Deku is so talkative. To Horikoshi (that’s the author), Spider-man is what comes to his mind when thinking of what it truly means to be a hero. To Horikoshi, a hero is someone who helps and brings reassurance to others, Deku does want to be a hero who helps people (the friendly neighborhood hero), which to him is what Spider-man is all about. He built My Hero Academia around this philosophy.
The fact that Spider-man is also a teenager helps fit the school setting of MHA as well.

Thanksgiving, a holiday that consists of eating until you burst. I like Thanksgiving cause I can help cook, that is what I really like doing, oh and spending time with my family, that is important to. I am thankful for a lot of things, like for an example, my family, my house, my siblings, and I can’t forget food. It’s a very good feeling when you are at the table laughing and all around enjoying your self, and that is the thing I am thankful for the most.

According to the US National Archives, the first federal congress passed a resolution in 1789 requesting the then US president, George Washington, to name a national Thanksgiving Day. The president then proclaimed the 26th of November as the “Day of Public Thanksgiving” for that year. So George Washington is the one to officially name Thanksgiving, that’s cool. The Wednesday before Thanksgiving is known as “Drinks giving.” Thanksgiving Eve is traditionally the busiest bar night of the year. I didn’t need to know that, but ok? During the first Thanksgiving ceremony, the Pilgrims and the Native Americans ate their thanksgiving dinner using spoons and knives only. This is because by then, forks had not yet been invented. About 10 years later, Governor Winthrop of Massachusetts introduced the fork, although it didn’t become popular until the 1800s. Wow, that is very interesting, I thought forks were way older.

You might be confused about the title, I know I have already done a blog post about a jet ski but this is different. I am going to be talking about kayaks; I have a small little kayak but my neighbor never uses their’s and tells us we can use it. But there is one thing I was mainly going to be talking about – oh and don’t forget to get your popcorn and drinks – and now let’s get started with this short story.

My brother and I were looking at the lake behind us, it was a very windy day and the lake behind us was very very very wavy. I told my brother we should kayak there and have fun because we can catch waves and go really fast. We got on the kayaks and started to go to the area that the lakes connected; we realized how hard it was just to go straight. Once we went the other way the current took us like “50mph”. When we were done having fun and started to go back, my arms ached so bad it was hard to row the kayak.

Primitive kayaks are probably more than four thousand year old boats. It was also used by primitive people. The older kayaks of the world have been kept in Germany and North American Museums. It is thought that those kayaks were probably used between the years 1500-1600. It was an ideal way for them to sneak on to pray. Kayaks can also be really expensive ranging from: $1,500 to $19,000. When I searched up how much is the most expensive kayak I wasn’t expecting to find out the most expensive kayak goes for $19,000, like what?

I have read a lot of books in my day, like a lot. I have started a book series that is very very good, well it’s all based on your opinion. The book is called ‘The Land of Stories’, it talks about Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty, Red Riding Hood, and Rapunzel. I started to read it because my friend read it, he was talking to me about it and mentioned that I should read it too, so I ordered it online. I started it and I realized how much I had to read, there was a little over 500 pages in the book. I stopped reading it after I read about a 100 pages. After a awhile I said to my self “I haven’t read that book in a while, let me give it a chance” I started reading it again and really loved it. I ordered the 2nd book of the series, I read it in a month. I ordered the 3rd book in the series and read it in 2 weeks. I got the 4th book a week ago and finished it, I can’t wait to get the 5th book.

Fun fact: Although there is no exact date known, people think the first book was made between 618 and 907 CE, the period of the Tang Dynasty. The oldest still existing printed book is a work of the Diamond Sutra and dates back to 868 CE. Well I guess this is a fun fact paragraph now, fun fact: an estimated 755,755 new books are published every year. As of mid-2017, there are an estimated 134,399,411 total published books in the world.  That’s a lot of books. You know it’s not that fun of a fact if you interrupt me every 5 seconds. As you can see books are very old, like very old. Books can be really expensive too, the most expensive book in the world is a first edition of the Bay Psalm Book, first printed in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1640. It was auctioned in New York for $14.2m.

I have been drawing for a while now and I would like to share my techniques and experiences with you. I am going to start by telling you this is going to be like a tutorial and I am going to teach you how to draw a simple anime character body. Well not that simple, ok lets start. Oh and I am going to put pictures down below so you can take it step by step.

I hoped you liked that little tutorial of how to draw a character. You can color it if you want, but I like to keep it black and white. I am not that good at coloring or painting but when I tried a Bob Ross tutorial I was surprised how easy it is to use his techniques. I have painted a lot and I would always mess up and wouldn’t get it right but when I tried his tutorial it felt super easy. A simple little technique can make the painting amazing.

You find your self in a very dark place with a lot of hate

you say to your self “I am going to find that light, I am going to find that light” within my sight

but each time you try something that brings you down but not with a frown

You try and try and try but it just won’t happen and your happiness is lacking

but you don’t give up with a cut

you try again and again like a friend

when you are so exhausted trying and trying you finally realized where you were and still trying to pur

you found the light that was within your sight

you did it, but you were confused, you thought you were always going to be in the dark with a mark

not to be welcomed by that light on a kite

after days of thinking it clicked you realized each time you tried and got brought down not with a frown

you never gave up with a cut

that is what motivated you to keep going while it was snowing

You were happy to be welcomed to this beautiful place of enlightment

Most of you will say “So you saw an alligator” and the answer is no I didn’t see one. Usually I do these blog post about things I did or about something I saw. Well I have seen an alligator, but it was not in my lake. I was traveling with my family, when we saw a rest stop and we all needed to pee so we went there, but we saw something cool too. We were looking around the rest stop and spotted a little convention center, of course we went in it and looked inside. There was a little gift shop, a weird water device that cost a quarter to start, and a outside area. I went to the gift shop first, then did that weird water device, then went outside. It wasn’t that cool until I saw an alligator, it was right below us, and was pretty big. After a bit of walking we saw a whole bunch of alligators, some were bigger than me. Of course my mom wanted to take a picture of all of us by the alligators.

When my family moved to this lake house we wanted to jump in the lake, but we thought it had alligators because where we are from has a lot of alligators. We saw other people jump in so we did too. Fun fact: alligators are usually more aggressive in the summer which is mating season for them; they are less aggressive in the winter, if you are on a lake and there are alligators some times, but you can jump in once and a while, make sure not to go in during summer. We didn’t know if there could be an alligator in the middle of the lake so we asked the locals if they ever saw them. Some of them said they only saw one in the time they have been there, but my neighbor said there can also be otters, and I was determined to catch and tame one. There is a restaurant a few houses down we can walk to, we got their menu and looked through it. As my dad was looking through it he said, “NO WAY” I said what, he said look, I didn’t see what he was looking at, then I saw this: Gator Tail for 11 dollars, I said no way! I wanted to go there ever since.

Well most of you think “oh jet skiing why is that so important” it’s not, it is just fun. If any of you have been on a jet ski before, you know how fast it is. If you know Star Wars, you know when the pull the lever on a ship and it goes the speed of light, And when you’re on the ship it would probably feel weird, and that’s what I felt when I went on the jet ski. Most of you guys are like “hey Kaden can you get to the good stuff” yes I am about to get there. But there is a problem, this jet ski that I am riding is my neighbors, he’s a friend of my dad. We can’t use it all the time, so I want to get one and I will tell you about a few that caught my eye.

Number 1 and 2 are cool but I think number 3 is the best, it’s time for me to share my experience with a jet ski.

This story is crazy, so make sure to grab your popcorn and drinks and I hope you enjoy. The other day, my dad offered his help for my neighbor to burn some wood and turns out it was a good idea, of course I didn’t just help to get a jet ski ride, first of all I didn’t even know he had a jet ski until he brought it out. My dad was talking to him while looking at the jet ski and then my neighbor said “want to take it for spin” then my dad was shocked and hopped on, then when I was in the water swimming, I see my dad on a jet ski. It took a while until he got back, but when he did, he started talking to my neighbor about how fast it was. Then he said can my son take a ride, my heart stopped when he said that, of course my nice neighbor said yes. I told my dad to go slow he said ok, but how much of a lie that was. Right when he got on the other lake he said to hold on then went full speed; let me explain how fast it feels. If you know Star Wars, you know when they pull the lever on a ship and it goes speed of light. Of course it doesn’t actually go the speed of light, it only goes 50 mph, but oh boy, it doesn’t seem fast in a car but on a jet ski, it’s another level. Anyways, after we were done going full speed we wanted to go back to the other lake (what I mean by the other lake is, I live where there’s a lake in front of me and a lake behind me, and they connect, I live on the smaller lake, so I went to the lake behind because it’s big) but there was one problem, we didn’t know where the area to go back to our lake was, so we were kind of stuck. After a while we found it and got home.

Yes, your reading that title right, you have probably heard about jiu jitsu, if not search it up. Jiu jitsu is a little something I like to do, it is a martial art that I like, what I meant to say instead of like, I meant to say I LOVE IT! Not many people know about jiu jitsu, and I want to share about it.( when I say Jiu Jitsu I mean to say Brazilian Jiu jitsu) I want to share about facts people don’t know about martial arts, like for example, in Japanese martial arts, the students are specialized in a type of weapon. Archery is specialized in Kyudo. Staff is found in Bojutsu. The sword is spotted in Kendo. Jiu jitsu is mostly on the ground, what I mean by on the ground is the techniques you do are on the ground, so it’s like karate on the ground.

Now I am going to tell you about jiu jitsu facts, jiu jitsu is, fun fact: the term ‘Jiu’ means ‘gentle’ and the term ‘Jitsu’ means ‘art’. The original Japanese translation means ‘gentle art’ in English. Ugh, you know what, I am not even angry anymore, but what I was saying is jiu jitsu is very old like very old, let me tell you about it. Jiu jitsu was taught to the Gracies from a man named “Count Maeda”, the Gracies found jiu jitsu as delightful and made a school in 1925, but jiu jitsu in general is very old let me explain, if you have a brother or a sister you both as a kid probably got in a fight and when you are in a fight it is normal to grab and wrestle, so jiu jitsu can be old, who knows it can be in the dino age. Can you believe Brazilian jiu jitsu was made in 1925 even I am surprised. Not many people know that every martial art that has belts have stripes, you may not now what stripes are and I will tell you, stripes are something you have on your belt, usually people think that you go belt to belt but that’s not true, you have to get four stripes on your belt then you have to advance to the other belt, and luckily I have 4 stripes on my belt, so that means I am on my way to getting a new belt.

These blue gill are very common at my lake, so it’s not that exciting when someone catches one. I have caught many of them but most of them are small like for example this is one my brother caught, it’s pretty small but they are not able to be use for live bait to catch fish like bass and other fish. It’s a fish that you usually catch then throw back in the water. I love to catch fish so you can’t believe how happy I was to catch my first little fish, it was small but I was still really happy. Fun fact: Bluegill fish, with the scientific name of Lepomis macrochirus, is one of the most common freshwater fishe. They can be found inhabiting in all types of freshwater bodies and are easy to catch. They come in varied colors ranging from yellow to dark blue. Well at least you didn’t interrupt me but blue gill; fun fact: the Bluegill is originally from the water around the United States and Mexico; but later on was repopulated in other areas of the world. GOSH DAMNIT, right when I said you didn’t interrupt me, but here you are interrupting me. Anyways blue gills are really good food, they should taste amazing, but I haven’t tried it yet. I have search for info about it and what I found made me even want to try it even more, what I found was that blue gill are the tastiest fresh water fish I wanted to eat one every day but to catch a big one to is very hard like very hard. Anyway time to tell my story with these fish.

This is the time my brother and I caught a blue gill. My brother and I just moved into a house that has a lake in front of it, but the cool thing is this lake have no alligators so we can swim in it. I was still scared to swim, but I built up the courage to. I wanted to fish so we got the fishing rods. When we started fishing, I knew it would take a while to at least get a nibble, but my dad still tried. I found nets and tried to catch little fish call minnows, I caught many but not good enough to use for live bait to catch bass. My dad said my brother and me should try to put bread on the bait and a lot of small or big fish could eat it and get hoked so I tried it, but first I need bread and the bread we have is not cheap, so we went to the store to get some bread. After we got the bread I used it right away, at first I didn’t get any fish but I saw a lot eating my bread. I was still fishing until I heard my brother scream and said “I got a fish I got a fish” I ran toward him and I saw a little fish on the ground, but there was one thing we had to do before releasing it, we had to dehook it and I didn’t know how dehook it and my brother didn’t know how to so my dad dehooked it, and my brother set it free. A little bit later I caught one, yes I did I was so happy, after my dad dehooked it my mom took a picture. After we got back inside, my dad told my brother to search up what type of fish we caught, and we found out the fish that we caught was called a blue gill and it is ranked number 1 good tasting fresh water fish, so I really wanted to catch a big one so I could try it.
