My name is Alexander and I am trained in the art of Chen Family Taijiquan (i.e. of the Grand Master Wang Xian System) starting my practice in 2002 when I was 21 years old under the tutelage of Bob Bacher - a direct student of Master Wang Xian. From a young age, I have desired longevity in my approach searching out ways to enhance one's quality of life via life-supportive methods. My first steps of holism began with tai chi, but as my passion is health and wellness other synergistic methodologies were added to my longevity approach that will further us all along a path of a healthy and joyful life.

Tai chi training methods are uniquely tailored for a life long journey of movement understanding. You will begin your practice with a joint loosening routine that starts at the head/neck region and will end with an ankle roll. Thereafter, I will gradually introduce silk reeling movements, stake standing, a form routine (Old Frame First Routine - Lao Jia Yi Lu) and other types of energy work. Daily practice of the movements taught, will create a supple body and build awareness of the mind body connection for balanced living.
I will personally guide you on how to apply lifting principles for a sustainable, safe, and effective way to build and maintain muscle mass.
My goal is for you to learn a routine and practice this for a lifetime of functional fitness. The sessions are tailored to enhance one's knowledge of movement with the potential to practice self-sufficiently with occasional touch-ups as needed.
I offer a range of services including one-on-one training, group training, and workshops. These services are designed to help you begin a lifestyle focused on fitness sustainability of a self-sufficient nature. I prefer a mix of tai chi and conscious weight lifting protocols, but am willing to do one or the other based on the individual's desire and need.
We go to a gym together, you either have a buddy pass or you pay for my day rate, and we train together, first me actively doing the movements to guide you in proper form development for lifelong resistance training and then me encouraging you to do the same on each movement demonstrated. The goal will always be for you to learn these exercise routines to eventually practice on your own with occasional touch ups. I charge $35 for an hour session.
Coupled with tai chi, the combination builds a strong life affirming foundation for a dynamic life. My private tai chi sessions are an hour long for $40. Location varies and can be at a local park, a backyard or any other place with some shade and a cool breeze. You will learn joint loosening, silk reeling movements, tai chi stretching, and form work. We recommend you start with tai chi and then add the resistance training once a good sense of the body is developed. Healthy muscles and joints will be a pillar for a more vibrant and active life.
With a 3 pillared approach to health and wellness, trainees will also have the availability of a non invasive health device that naturally boosts the energy reserves in the body.
